Jammu, Dec 29: For Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the year 2024 proved to be a dramatic and eventful chapter in his political career.

SRINAGAR, Dec 29: A furniture manufacturing company and a commercial building were damaged in separate overnight fire incidents in Srinagar, officials said.
The Fire and Emergency service officials said that fire broke out around 11.10 pm last night in Essque Furniture Works at the industrial estate of Bagh-e-Ali Mardan Khan in Nowshar area of Srinagar causing extensive damage to the property.
They said as soon as the fire call was received, several fire tenders were rushed to the spot from the city centre stations to douse the leaping flames.

Srinagar, Dec 29: Gulmarg and Pahalgam in Kashmir continued to experience severe subzero temperatures while the rest of the valley saw slight relief from the cold wave, officials said on Sunday.
Gulmarg, a tourist resort town known for skiing activities in north Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 8.0 degree Celsius, the Meteorological department said.
The base camp for annual Amarnath Yatra in south Kashmir, Pahalgam, registered a minimum of minus 8.5 degree Celsius, the department said.
