JKLF chief shifted to central jail, Geelani & Shabir under house arrest | | |
Srinagar, Dec 31:Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Mohammad Yasin Malik has been shifted to central jail, here after his arrest at Pulwama in south Kashmir.
Chairman of hardline Hurriyat Conference (HC) Syed Ali Shah Geelani and senior separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah remained under house arrest.
Malik and two other senior front leaders were arrested yesterday at Pulwama, where they were leading a rally organised against the issuance of domicile certificates to West Pakistan refugees and other issues after Friday prayers.
A spokesman of front said that Malik and others were lodged in local police station at Pulwama. However, they were shifted to central jail late last night, he said, adding that Malik was not produced before any magistrate.
Malik was released after remaining under detention for more than five months early this month.
However, there was no restriction on chairman of moderate HC Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq who addressed Friday congregation at historic Jamia Masjid yesterday.

JAMMU, Dec 30: Despite clearance from Jammu Development Authority (JDA), more than 10 building permissions, no objection certificates (NOCs) are yet to be cleared by Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Samba.
He is neither concerned about municipal rules and regulations nor does he care that he could be penalised under the Public Service Gurantee Act (PSGA).
ACR has not cleared even a single cade during last nine months. Sources told Early Times that NOC or feedback sought by the JDA to grant building permission is not timely being furnished by the ACRs.
