Sheikh's unreal b'day observed as holiday, JK's real hero remains unsung | It can't get more bizarre than this | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 5: At a time when the file related to the declaration of state holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh's birthday is gathering dust at Civil Secretariat, the government ironically continues to observe holiday on the date which even is not the actual birth date of National Conference founder Sheikh Abdullah.
Pertinently, on January 24, 2017, the Upper House adopted a resolution urging the government to declare holiday on September 23 every year on birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, the last Dogra king of Jammu and Kashmir. The private member resolution was moved by BJP MLC, Ajatshatru Singh, who is the grandson of the late Maharaja. The resolution was accepted and Deputy Chairman Jahangir Hussain Mir asked government to respond.
However, more than a year has passed and there are no whereabouts of the file.

PDP apprehends more shocks in coming days | 'Party to call meeting of senior leaders' | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 5: Amid rebellion within the party, the Peoples Democratic Party is apprehending more "shocks" in the coming days as some of the leaders are allegedly planning to leave the party.
Sources said some of the party leaders from PDP have been in touch with some other parties. Sources said the PDP leaders are being "offered good package" by other parties especially the National Conference and the Peoples Conference.
Sources said PDP President Mehbooba Mufti has been getting inputs from her close aides about the activities of her party cadres being in touch with the "rival parties."

ANANTNAG, Dec 5: BJP legislator from Kashmir, Sofi Yousuf, on Wednesday said the ongoing Governor's rule in Jammu and Kashmir was "actually BJP rule."
"Today we have government in the Centre. Here in the state we have Governor Raj that is also ours," Yousuf told a gathering at his residence in Anantnag.
"Tomorrow it will be again our government," he said while disclosing the names of Scheduled Tribe committee members.
Sofi Yousuf, who hails from Srigufwara village of Anantnag district, is a member of Legislative Council. He has contested many assembly and parliamentary elections unsuccessfully from Pahalgam and Anantnag constituencies respectively.
