Jammu, Dec 5: Stating that anything can happen in politics, former J&K chief minister and senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has neither confirmed nor denied whether he would float a new political party in the Union Territory.
Azad’s statement has added to the woes of Congress leadership in J&K because he (Azad) has the potential to spoil the party’s prospects in the coming assembly elections.
The incumbent Congress leadership headed by Ghulam Ahmed Mir is already worried after Azad received encouraging response during his tour in both the Jammu region and Kashmir Valley respectively.
“Formation of a new political party is not completely ruled out but we are waiting for some time to take a final decision”, a loyalist told the Early Times.
Wishing anonymity the Congress leader said that Ghulam Nabi Azad is not in a hurry to take any decision. “Azad is exploring all possibilities, he is in touch with leaders of other parties also”, he said.

Poonch, Dec 5: A road constructed under PMSGY ten years ago turned the house of a poor man unsafe in this frontier district and since then he has been running from pillar to post to seek help but no one seems interested to come for his rescue.
The road under PMSGY was built in the Sib area of Loran in 2011 and since that day a residential house of Mohammad Ibrahim Lone has become unsafe, as the water from road enters into his house.

SRINAGAR, Dec 5: The Government today informed that 161 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 18 from Jammu division and 143 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 337807.Also, 02 COVID deaths have been reported from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 184 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 34 from Jammu Division and 150 from Kashmir Division.

Srinagar, Dec 5: Higher reaches received fresh spell of snowfall, while rain lashed plains in Kashmir on Sunday.
The minimum temperature rose above the freezing point in Srinagar after over a week.
It was raining over plains of Kashmir and snowing over middle and upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir when this report was filed.
Director Meteorological Department Kashmir, Sonam Lotus said that Drass-Kargil area and over higher reaches of Kashmir received fresh snowfall and rains in plains of Kashmir including Srinagar since early morning.
