Jammu, Jan 31: While constituents of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) alliance are fighting over seat-sharing in Jammu and Kashmir, the ruling BJP has started the campaign for the Lok Sabha elections by simultaneously inaugurating offices at all five Parliamentary seats on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, J&K Congress chief Vikar Rasool Wani disclosed that the party has sent a panel of potential candidates for all the five seats of the Union Territory.

Kulgam, Jan 31: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday attached property belonging to a notorious drug peddler in the Kulgam district under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of the investigation and inquiry conducted by Kulgam police, said the police.

SRINAGAR, Jan 31: Many areas in the higher reaches of Kashmir received fresh snowfall, while the plains were lashed by rains, officials said on Wednesday.
The tourist resorts of Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Pahalgam received fresh light to moderate snowfall overnight, which was going on when last reports came in, they said.
They said the snowfall was also recorded in Anantnag district’s Kokernag, Handwara in Kupwara, and Gurez in Bandipora district.
There are reports of fresh snowfall in other areas in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, including along the Zojila axis on the Srinagar-Leh highway, the officials added.

The finance ministry on January 30, notified the cut in duty on imports of components including screw, SIM socket, or other mechanical items of metal for cellular mobile phone.

Baramulla, Jan 31: Seven persons died on Wednesday when a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled down into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said.
A passenger vehicle rolled down into a deep gorge in Boniyar area of Uri in the north Kashmir district, they said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Paul Singh, said that seven people died in the incident while seven others sustained injuries.
