With protesting farmers seeking to march to the national capital, security remained tight on Wednesday with personnel deployed in huge numbers and barricades regulating movement in central Delhi and at border points with Haryana, which can cause hardships to commuters.
The traffic movement at Singhu (Delhi-Sonipat) and Tikri borders (Delhi-Bahadurgarh) is suspended, an official said, adding the security personnel in anti-riot gear are deployed and drones being used to keep an eye on the situation.

Srinagar, Feb 14: A PDD inspector on Wednesday died due to electric shock in Parimpora area of Srinagar when he was carrying out some repair work, officials said. An official said that the PDD inspector identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad of Chattabal got electrocuted when he was carrying out some repair works. He said that soon after the incident, he was shifted to SMHS hospital, however, he was pronounced dead. Kulgam, Feb 14: A man died of suffocation caused by a gas heater at his accommodation in Pahloo area of Devsar belt in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday.
Officials said that a man identified as Karamat Hussain Choudary, son of Nazir Ahmad Choudary from Nowshera Rajouri was found dead at his accommodation in Pahloo, Kulgam. They said the man has died probably due to a suffocation caused by a gas heater in his room.

Jammu, Feb 14: Pakistan Rangers violated the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan on Wednesday by resorting to unprovoked firing on a BSF post along the International Border here, officials said. Leh, Feb 14: Nine unexploded shells were found and subsequently destroyed in a controlled explosion in Ladakh, an official said on Wednesday. The information about the presence of shells at Chulitse Kulum in Kharu was conveyed by Councillor Sonam Thardos to the Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM), an official spokesman said.
He said the SDM took up the matter with the Trishul Division of the Army and subsequently its engineers ensured the swift disposal of the shells in the presence of the local police.
