Jammu, Feb 15: After conducting raids at different locations, the Anti Corruption Bureau finally registered FIRs against Ameet Kumar Koul, Inspector, and Head Constable Rajinder Kumar Sharma regarding the allegations of possessing disproportionate assets.
The Head Constable booked by the Anti-Corruption Bureau had served as the Personal Security Officer (PSO) of a former BJP minister.
Sources said that the Head Constable is a very influential person and has amassed huge wealth through illegal means. “Despite being a Head Constable, he used to manage transfers of Inspectors and other officers by using this influence”, sources said.

SRINAGAR, Feb 15: The State Investigation Agency Kashmir, conducted searches at 18 locations in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district, as part of its investigation into a trans-national human trafficking case.
A spokesperson said that special teams of the SIA, aided by the Srinagar police, started the searches in the early hours.

Srinagar, Feb 15: A girl allegedly committed suicide after her boyfriend refused to marry her in Jammu Kashmir's Budgam district, police said on Thursday.
The body of the deceased, identified as Kulsum Rehman, a resident of Drung Tangmarg, was recovered from an open field in the Magam area on Wednesday.

Srinagar, Feb 15: A terrorist associate was arrested in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district, police said on Thursday.
The arrest was made by a joint naka laid by Kupwara Police, Arny's 28 RR, and the CRPF's 162 battalion at Gundimacher Bridge.
"During naka checking, a suspicious movement of one person carrying a white-colored bag who was coming from Lalpora towards Gundmacher was observed. Acting swiftly, the police party and security forces apprehended him tactfully as the said person tried to flee from the spot," a police statement said.
During preliminary questioning, the arrested disclosed his name as Rafeeq Ahmad Ganie of Lalpora Sheikhpora, they said.

An official said a couple of moderate-to-intense Western Disturbances (WD) are most likely to affect J&K and adjoining areas from Saturday afternoon onwards.
