Jammu, Feb 16: The Congress party’s humiliating defeat in the recent Assembly elections has led to a major shake-up, with more heads likely to roll after the sacking of Bharatsinh Solanki as incharge of Jammu and Kashmir Congress.
According to highly placed sources, the party’s high command is taking serious steps to revive the party in Jammu and Kashmir, and Solanki’s removal is just the beginning.

JAMMU, Feb 16: The inauguration of Vande Bharat train service to Kashmir Valley has been postponed, officials said on Sunday.
Earlier reports, which the officials said were unconfirmed, had said that the Vande Bharat train service between Udhampur, Srinagar and Baramulla would be inaugurated on February 17 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Jammu, Feb 16: Two people were found dead in a remote village in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, a police officer said.
Bodies of Roshan Lal, 45, and Shamsher, 37, were retrieved from the banks of a stream at village Batheri, station house officer of Billawar police station Jitender Singh said.
He said preliminary information revealed that the deceased had been strangulated by unknown persons.
The exact cause of the death will be known only after the postmortem, the officer said, adding police have started investigations after registering a murder case.

Jammu, Feb 16: A brief exchange of fire took place along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, security officials said.
They said an Indian Army post came under fire from a forested area across the LoC around 11.30 am in Gulpur sector.
They said soldiers retaliated and the exchange of fire lasted for a very brief period.
