In the meeting, the party chalked out a plan to contest all three seats of Kashmir Valley in case the National Conference remained adamant on its stand. Kashmir braces for major snow spell

Early Times Report Srinagar, Feb 17: The Kashmir region is bracing for a major spell of snowfall even as night temperatures rose above sub-zero levels, officials said on Saturday. The meteorological centre in Srinagar said an extended wet spell is likely to begin over J&K and adjoining areas from Saturday night and will continue till the afternoon of February 21. This year, J&K witnessed an extended dry spell, with just two spells of light to moderate snowfall between January 28 and February 3. Avalanche warning issued for 8 districts

Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Feb 17: With the meteorological centre here predicting heavy snowfall, eight districts of Jammu and Kashmir received avalanche warning on Saturday. The Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA) said avalanche with low danger level is likely to occur above 2,200 metres over districts of Bandipora, Baramulla, Kupwara, Ganderbal in Kashmir and Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch and Ramban in Jammu region in the next 24 hours.
