Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 18: A year is about to pass when the Jammu and Kashmir Official Languages Act has passed and Hindi, Dogri and Kashmiri languages were also recognized like Urdu and English, the official machinery continues to function in English language only. After the removal of 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, Hindi, Dogri and Kashmiri languages were also recognized like Urdu and English under the Official Languages Act in 2020, but they have not been used in administrative work so far. All the documents of the Revenue Department, as per the reports coming to the fore, are still in Urdu and English language only. Last year, when Dogri, Kashmiri and Hindi, spoken in the state, got the status of official languages, employment opportunities in these languages arose among the youth of the state. The people of the state felt that now these languages will be used in official work, but even after a year, the situation has not changed. According to the 2011 census, only 0.16 per cent of the population in Jammu and Kashmir spoke Urdu, while 2.3 per cent spoke Hindi. The gov...

Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 18: Students who had qualified the examinations held by the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) have been left perplexed and confused due to non-serious attitude of the government. According to the details available with Early Times BOPEE chairman Shafiq Raina attained superannuation on December 13, 2021 and since then the board has been headless. Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 18: While the administration on February 17 directed all its employees and those working in public sector undertakings (PSUs) to upload their monthly achievements or performance on J&K Employees Performance Monitoring Portal by or before 7 of every month from March, there are no such orders for the senior officials, who are accused of “babu raaj” allegedly sabotaging vision of Naya Jammu and Kashmir. Early Times Report Srinagar, Feb 18: The authorities in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district have suspended 22 teachers under suspension after three schools recorded ‘Zero percent result’ in class 10th. In this regard the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Anantnag has issued an official communiqué and said that the staffs associated with the academies of Secondary classes including Headmaster have been placed under suspension. “7 teachers posted at High School Wantrag have been placed under suspension,” reads the officail communiqué.
