Like stone pelters, Udhampur truck 'attackers' too want amnesty | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 19: Exhibiting its human face, PDP-BJP government has withdrawn cases against 9000 stone pelters in Kashmir but similar yardstick is yet to be applied for the youth of Jammu region who have been facing various charges. Some of them have been falsely implicated in criminal cases while as some may be involved in a few incidents.
Since November 2017, when state government had announced amnesty for the stone pelters, families of the alleged accused of Udhampur Petrol Bomb attack have been demanding justice.
Families of the arrested youth allege that PDP leadership is discriminating with youth of Jammu region.
In the month of November 2017 when state government had released over 4000 stone pelters by giving them amnesty families of Udhampur youth too had demanded amnesty for their wards also.
The families had said that state government has released 4327 stone pelters involved in 744 cases of Law and Order in Kashmir, while no such proposal was put forth to seek the release of their wards.

JAMMU, Feb 19: The Jammu and Kashmir government is playing with fire by being soft towards the separatists like so-called JKLF chief Yasin Malik, who becomes Mr Bechara whenever he is put behind the bars.
A politician while talking to Early Times said, "Whenever Malik is sent to prison he manages to come out at one or other pretext. After coming out he stages protests reaches far-off places and instigates people to hit the streets and stage protests."
He said, "This time around he (Malik) was shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment from Central Jail after he complained about various ailments. He remained at SKIMS for 6-days ad he was released today."

SRINAGAR, Feb 19: Even as the National Investigation Agency recently took custody of five accused arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in connection with the escape of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Mohammed Naveed Jhatt from the SMHS hospital on February 6, the NIA is likely to question some of the JKP cops posted at the jail.
Sources said there was every possibility that some of the cops could be arrested for more questioning after the preliminary inquiry.
Sources said the NIA has not ruled out hand of some policemen in Naveed's escape. Sources said the NIA has already been verifying the antecedents of some of the cops under scanner for dereliction of duties.
