One month after minister’s visit, Situation same on ground | | |

Jammu, Feb 20: Almost one month has been completed after team of Union Ministers’ ‘public outreach’ but nothing has been changed on the ground.
Common people are still facing the same problems which they had raised before the visiting ministers.
As per ground reports, despite assurances given by the officers in the presence of Union Ministers no step has been taken to ameliorate woes of the people. “Officers at the ground level are not ready change their mindset so situation is same on the ground”, sources said and informed that instead of addressing problems of the people officers are behaving like autocrats due to absence of political leadership.
As reported earlier in the media, the team of Union Ministers- engaged in the much publicized “public outreach” programme- was asked to get authentic feedback from the grass root level about implementation of Centre’s welfare scheme in the newly created Union Territory (UT) of J&K.

Jammu, Feb 20: The Jammu based contractual lecturers working in government degree colleges are likely to be affected most by the order government, slashing monthly remuneration of NET qualified college contractual lecturers from Rs 28000 to Rs 15000 and non-NET qualified lecturers from Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 12000.
Sources informed Early Times that though contractual lecturers have been engaged in both provinces of Jammu and Kashmir but the decision would badly impact the Jammu based contractual lecturers while majority from Kashmir valley would be spared.

JAMMU, Feb 20: Despite Union Ministry of Environment and Forests (Mo&EF) issuing guidelines and circulars from time-to-time to regulate cement factories operating in Khrew and Khonomoh areas, the concerned departments in Jammu and Kashmir are least bothered about the implementation of these guidelines.
Official data accessed through RTIs reveals that most of the cement factories and their mines are operating close to Dachigam national wildlife sanctuary without proper no-objection certificates (NOCs) from the concerned authorities.

Srinagar, Feb 20: The abrogation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir seems to have finally brought some good news for the “neglected” Pandit community as the administration in the valley has come up with special arrangements for the Shivratri festival this time, while a mega Puja is scheduled to be held at the historic Shankaracharya temple here. New Delhi, Feb 20: Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) recruited Indian nationals online to help carryout Pulwama-like terror attack in Kashmir. The dangerous designs of JeM were unearthed after the Nagrota encounter in which J&K Police and CRPF shot down three terrorists and arrested three over ground workers of the terror outfit.
