Increasing governance deficit: Important decision on J&K after UP polls | | |

Jammu, Feb 20: Getting disturbing reports about the complete collapse of the system in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Centre is going to take some important decisions regarding J&K after the completion of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
The Union Government in general and BJP leadership, in particular, is worried over the increasing governance deficit in the highly sensitive UT of J&K because the incumbent regime in the Union Territory has miserably failed to connect with people at the grassroots level.

Jammu, Feb 20: Highlighting the unending plight of the natives of Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan, Jamil Masood, representative of NGO at United Nations Human Rights Councils Geneva on Sunday urged the Indian Government to liberate areas of the erstwhile princely state of Jammu and Kashmir illegally occupied by Pakistan since 1947.

JAMMU, Feb 20: J&K’s Finance Department, it seems, is under the grip of ‘Incharge Syndrome’ as the staff of this key department has been assigned more than one duty since a wide range of issues including vigilance clearance and promotions are pending for a longer period of time.
Few employees of the Finance Department told Early Times that when several officers in the Finance Department are looking after more than one responsibility then how it is possible for them to do justice with their work.
“What will be the productivity level of such an officer who has been assigned two to three charges and that too without giving him some sort of incentive,” they said.

Kishtwar, Feb 20: Srinagar Court on Saturday acquitted Juveniles in Conflict with Law (JCL) in a Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) paper scam case of 2012.
As per the details available with Early Times, after hearing prosecution and defence counsel, the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) Srinagar presided over by Principal Magistrate Touseef Ahmad Magray and Members Dr Khair-ul-Nissa and Dr Asima Hassan said that nothing incriminating has been brought on record against the JCL.
