Jammu, Feb 21: At a time when the government claims to have been making serious efforts to connect Jammu and Kashmir, airlines are out to plunder the people of both the regions with flying to Singapore emerging as a cheaper deal than flying to Srinagar from Jammu.
As per the rates available on internet, the airfare from Jammu to Srinagar for February 22 is costing a whopping Rs 24,577 per passenger. On the other hand, if one wants to fly to Singapore from India, the airfare is Rs 18,000- six thousand less than that of the Srinagar.

JAMMU, Feb 21: The Election Commission of India appointing Election Commissioner, Sushil Chandra, as Delimitation Commissioner for Jammu and Kashmir has led to political activities getting revived in the newly carved out Union Territory.
The delimitation in J&K was announced on August 5 last year, when Centre announced its decision to abrogate the special status of the erstwhile State and divided into two Union Territories, J&K and Ladakh.
The delimitation will end the discrimination which Jammu region has been facing for the past seven decades as it will lead to number of assembly seats in Jammu getting increased.

SRINAGAR, Feb 21: The transfer policy in the Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has been dumped since many employees of the Board have not transferred for years together they and continue to stay put at present places of posting.
Early Times has learnt from sources that more than a dozen employees of JKBOSE are posted either at the Central Office or the Head Office for years together and they have not been transferred elsewhere. This has resulted into a situation by virtue of which these employees are calling the shots at present places of posting.

Srinagar, Feb 21: Even as over a dozen leaders of the National Conference have been released from detention undertaken after the abrogation of the special status on August 5, 2019, most of them avoid attending the party activities and prefer to sit back at home.
Since the abrogation of the special status, the NC has held at least three major meetings at party headquarters at the Nawa –e-Subh in Srinagar but those of the senior leaders released from prison stayed away from the meetings.

Srinagar, Feb 21: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday carried out a fresh raid in south Kashmir district of Pulwama reportedly in connect with case involving a police officer, who was arrested while escorting two top Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) outside the valley last month.
Official sources said that the investigation agency raided a Darul Uloom in Pinglana in Pulwama. ”Further details are awaited,” they said.
The development comes about a week after NIA on February 13 arrested former president of the LoC Traders Association Tanveer Ahmed Wani, a resident of Pulwama.
