Jammu gets Rs 460 Cr less for same road project | Kashmir takes lions share | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 23: In yet another instance of sheer discrimination with the Jammu region of the state, the authorities have sanctioned a whooping Rs. 460 crores more to Kashmir Valley than Jammu for the construction of Semi- Ring Road project.
This is pertinently not a first instance when Jammu region of the state has been left behind with its developmental needs ignored and undermined by the people at the helm. In plethora of the developmental projects, Jammu has been denied its due share while as to reap political benefits, Kashmir Valley has been given undue advantages.
Official documents in possession of the Early Times make the startling revelations about how for the same project, different yard sticks are being adopted by the state authorities.
For the construction of the Ring Road project, Kashmir Valley has been sanctioned Rs 1860 Crores while as for the same project in Jammu region, the government has sanctioned Rs 460 crores less than Kashmir which is Rs 1400 crores. Aggrieved unemployed temporary teachers accused the present government of disengaging them from duties, without bothering about their career.
