Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 24: Amid an ongoing tussle among constituents of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc in Jammu and Kashmir over seat sharing, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday asked party president Mehbooba Mufti to contest the election on the prestigious Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary constituency. Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Feb 24: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday attached houses of four accused in a narco-terror case in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, the agency said. The case relates to the use of the ”proceeds of narcotic drugs” to fund violent terror activities by proscribed terror groups Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) operating in Jammu and Kashmir’s Handwara-Kupwara region, the NIA said in a statement. Early Times Report Srinagar, Feb 24: Jammu and Kashmir Police's State Investigation Agency (SIA) presented a charge sheet against Sarjan Ahmad Wagay, alias Sarjan Barkati, his wife, and an active militant now based in Pakistan in a case of unlawful activities and militant financing, officials said. New criminal laws to become applicable from July 1

NEW DELHI, Feb 24: The newly enacted laws — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Act — to completely overhaul the criminal justice system in the country will come into effect from July 1. However, the provision related to cases of hit and run by vehicle drivers will not be implemented immediately. The three laws got the Parliament’s approval on December 21 last year and President Droupadi Murmu gave her assent on December 25. NEW DELHI, Feb 24: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has approved cash rewards of up to Rs 25 lakh each to the armed forces personnel who bagged medals in last year’s Asian Games and Asian Para Games.
