Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 25: Amid a joining spree in the party, the BJP is trying to rope in a prominent leader of the National Conference from Kashmir Valley to field him as the party’s candidate for the Srinagar-Budgam Parliamentary seat. Highly placed sources in the BJP revealed that the said National Conference leader has yet not given his consent to join the Saffron Party but some national-level leaders of the BJP are still trying to convince in this regard. Sources said that the said leader, who is known for credentials and nationalist approach, has a strong following in different parts of the Srinagar-Budgam Parliamentary constituency which is presently being represented by the National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah. “It is too early to confirm the joining of this mass-base National Conference leader in the BJP but sincere efforts are being made by the local as well as central leadership”, a source in the party said. Early Times Report Jammu/Chandigarh, Feb 25: A diesel locomotive-hauled freight train travelled more than 70 kilometres from Kathua to a village in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur district without its drivers on Sunday, officials said. Early Times Report Srinagar, Feb 25: Weather is likely to remain unchanged in J&K during the next 24 hours as the Meteorological (MeT) office forecast inclement weather from Tuesday onwards. “Generally cloudy weather with possibility of light rain/snow in J&K on February 27 while more wet spells are expected from February 28 to March 3”, an official of the MeT department said. Early Times Report Banihal/Jammu, Feb 25: A government official was booked for rape following a complaint by his domestic help in Ramban district, police on Sunday said. The accused Yawar Amin, an employee of the Public Works Department presently posted as an assistant engineer in Samagra Shiksha Ramban, is on the run and efforts are on to arrest him, they said. Early Times Report Kishtwar/Jammu, Feb 25: A rusted grenade was found on the roadside in Kishtwar district on Sunday, police said. Kishtwar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abdul Qayoom said the explosive device was noticed at Zargar Mohalla by a local resident, who immediately informed the police.
