"I am 52 but don't have a house yet. My mother told me it was not our house, it was of the government and we were leaving it. I asked her where we would go. She said she didn't know,” Rahul Gandhi said. Recounting an incident after the 1997 election, Rahul Gandhi said he used to think that the government house that his family used to stay at belonged to them until one day his mother told him they were leaving the house. "There was a strange situation in the house. I went to mummy and asked what happened. She told me that we are leaving the house. I used to think it was my house. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), eligible farmers are provided with a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each every four months. The fund is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. The scheme was launched in February 2019 but is being implemented with effect from December 2018.
