Jammu, Feb 26: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said that despite being son of former Prime Minister he does not have any house to live.
"I am 52 but don't have a house yet. My mother told me it was not our house, it was of the government and we were leaving it. I asked her where we would go. She said she didn't know,” Rahul Gandhi said.
Recounting an incident after the 1997 election, Rahul Gandhi said he used to think that the government house that his family used to stay at belonged to them until one day his mother told him they were leaving the house.
"There was a strange situation in the house. I went to mummy and asked what happened. She told me that we are leaving the house. I used to think it was my house. Then my mom told me that it was not our house, but the government's."
Rahul Gandhi said he got unsettled after knowing that and asked Sonia Gandhi where they would go next. "Nahi maloom," my mother said.

Srinagar, Feb 26: In a shocking development, a neta from Kashmir, who is also an elected representative of an elected body in Srinagar and at a prominent position had posted a grossly awkward post on the social media annoying the government.
Sources said the said politician last night posted a tweet on his Twitter handle wherein he alleged that some former ministers wanted to kill him in league with some others.

JAMMU, Feb 26: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Sunday dismissed three employees under Article 311 of the Constitution of India for their involvement in anti-national activities. Article 311 of the Constitution of India provides for dismissal of a person employed in civil capacities under Union or a State.
The activities of these employees had come to the adverse notice of law enforcement and intelligence agencies, as they found them involved in activities prejudicial to the interests of the State, such as involvement in terror related activities and drug trafficking.

New Delhi, Feb 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 13th instalment of financial benefits worth Rs 16,800 crore to over eight crore eligible farmers under the flagship PM-KISAN scheme on Monday ahead of Holi and rabi harvesting.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), eligible farmers are provided with a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each every four months. Srinagar, Feb 26: A Western Disturbance (WD) is likely to cause rain and snow in Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours, officials said.
The WD can cause rain, snow between February 27 evening till March 3 morning in Jammu and Kashmir, an independent weather observer Faizan Arif said.
He said generally, moderate rain showers are expected at most places in the plains, along with lightning, thunder, and gusty winds in some areas.

Jammu, Feb 26: In view of closed snow bound Srinagar-Leh national highway, Indian Air Force on Sunday airlifted 388 stranded citizens from Jammu to Leh.
Defence spokesman Lt Col Devender Anand said that the Indian Air Force provided the facility of IL-76 Aircraft which airlifted 388 citizens of Union Territory of Ladakh from Jammu to Leh.
"Under the operation Sadbhavna, Indian Air Force has been extending assistance to the citizens of UTs of J&K and Ladakh," said Col Anand.

Srinagar, Feb 26: Terrorists on Sunday shot dead a Kashmiri Pandit in Pulwama district, officials said.
Police said terrorists fired upon one civilian from Kashmiri Pandit community identified as Sanjay Sharma's son of Kashinath Sharma, a resident of Achan Pulwama this morning when he was on way to a local market.
The injured was shifted to hospital however, he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
