Jammu, Feb 26: The National Investigation Agency on Monday filed a charge sheet against five Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives, including three Pakistan-based handlers of the banned outfit, in connection with an attack on civilians in Rajouri district last year.

JAMMU, Feb 26: Three labourers were found dead inside a tent in a remote area in Udhampur district on Monday, police said.
Balvinder Chand, 28, Sonu Ram, 25, and Anil Chand, 23, were engaged by a company that constructed power transmission towers in the Chenani area. The three were found dead inside a tent at hilltop Katheer-Gatwal village, officials said.
A team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Sheikh Tahir Aminas as well as a team of Forensic Science Laboratory visited the scene and took the bodies to Chenani hospital for autopsy.

Jammu, Feb 26: The Jammu and Kashmir Police Monday said it has initiated legal action against a person posing as the additional director general of police of Jammu on various social media platforms.
“A fraudster has managed to impersonate ADGP Jammu zone, Anand Jain on various social media platforms using his image including other credentials and is extorting money from people,” according to a police statement “The offender has created the profiles with malicious intent. Accordingly, legal action has been initiated as per law,” it said, without giving any further details.

JAMMU, Feb 26: The Indian Air Force (IAF) airlifted as many as 260 stranded passengers between the twin union territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh on Monday, an official said.
With this, a total of 1,551 passengers were airlifted so far in AN-32 aircraft, also known as Kargil courier, since the launch of the service on January 22 following closure of the 434-km Srinagar-Leh national highway owing to heavy snowfall, the official said.
The Kargil courier service operates three days a week between Jammu and Srinagar, and twice a week between Srinagar and Kargil to facilitate the stranded passengers.

Srinagar, Feb 26: Weather department here has forecast light rain and snow at “scattered to fairly widespread” places in Jammu and Kashmir from Monday night to forenoon of Tuesday.
A meteorological department official here said that on February 28-29, partly to generally cloudy weather is expected with possibility of light rain and snow at isolated places.
From March 1-3, he said, there is possibility of light to moderate rain and snow at most places with heavy rain and snow at few middle and higher reaches during March 2 and 3.
