Jammu, Feb 2: After smuggling timer-fitted “sticky bombs” in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan has not started dropping “perfume bombs” through its drones to trigger blasts in different parts of the Union Territory.
By wrapping IEDs in perfume bottles these bombs are prepared in Pakistan and dropped through drones on this side of the border.

Jammu, Feb 2: Justice Sanjay Dhar of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has held that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is empowered with general consent to investigate offences in the erstwhile State of J&K.
While dismissing the bunch of petitions, Justice Sanjay Dhar observed that a common question of law as to whether the Central Bureau of Investigation is vested with jurisdiction to investigate offences committed within the territorial jurisdiction of erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir prior to its bifurcation into two Union Territories, has arisen in all these petitions.

Srinagar, Feb 2: Barring Srinagar the minimum temperature drops in Kashmir valley on Thursday amid meteorological forecast of very light rain, snow over the isolated places of J&K.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, settled at 0.4 degree Celsius for the second consecutive day on Thursday, MeT office said, adding it was 1.1 degree Celsius above normal during this period of the season.
Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national had a low of minus 2.0 degree Celsius against 0.2 degree Celsius recorded the previous night. It was 0.1 degree Celsius above normal during this period of the year.

Srinagar, Feb 2: Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday issued a medium danger avalanche warning in four districts in view of the recent snowfall in the Valley.
"Avalanche with medium danger level is likely to occur above the altitude of 2,400 metres over Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Bandipora in the next 24 hours," an official said here.
He said the possibility of avalanches was high due to an approaching western disturbance.
People have been advised not to venture out in the avalanche-prone areas, the official said.

New Delhi, Feb 2: Noting that a number of undertrial prisoners are in jail even after being granted bail, the Supreme Court has asked courts concerned to consider modifying the conditions imposed if the bonds were not furnished within a month.
Issuing a slew of directions, a bench of Justices S K Kaul and Abhay S Oka said one of the reasons that delays the release of an accused or a convict is the insistence upon a local surety and suggested that in such cases, the courts may not impose the condition of local surety.
