Jammu, Feb 3: Even as 20 Congress leaders have staked their claims on two Lok Sabha seats of Jammu province, the party high command is trying to rope in two non-Congress leaders to field them on one of the Parliamentary constituency of this region.
Highly placed sources said that the Congress high command has sought details about two non-Congressmen to approach them to give them mandates for Lok Sabha seats.
Important to mention here both the non-Congressmen whom the party is trying to rope in before the Parliamentary elections have already formed their own political parties.
Sources in the Congress said that some local leaders, who are aware of the ground situation in Jammu province, have supported the move of the central leadership and suggested taking this initiative to the logical conclusion.
On the condition of anonymity, a Congress leader said that the party leadership has proposed the idea of giving the Udhampur-Doda seat to a non-Congressmen provided he will formally join the party.

After the wet weather, induced by a western disturbance, prevailed across North India over the last few days, another western disturbance is set to alter weather conditions in the mountain regions on Sunday, India Meteorological Department (IMD) Scientist Naresh said.
“Another Western Disturbance will start affecting from tomorrow which will lead to heavy snowfall and rainfall in the mountain regions. Rainfall and snowfall may be expected between 75 to 100 per cent of the stations,” IMD Scientist Naresh said.

Srinagar, Feb 3: Several parts of Kashmir, including Srinagar city, witnessed fresh snowfall on Saturday as the MeT department has forecast moderate top-heavy snowfall in the valley over the next 48 hours.
While it started snowing early in the morning in the higher reaches of Kashmir, the plains of the valley also witnessed snowfall as the day progressed, officials said.

Srinagar, Feb 3: With the Meteorological centre here predicting moderate to heavy snowfall over the next 48 hours, eight districts of Jammu and Kashmir received avalanche warning on Saturday.
The Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA) said avalanche with medium danger level is likely to occur above 2,400 metres over districts of Bandipora, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kupwara in Kashmir and Doda, Poonch and Ramban in Jammu region in the next 24 hours.
People living in these areas are advised to take precautions and avoid venturing out into areas prone to avalanche, JKDMA added.
