Jammu, Feb 6: Even as the Government of India has banned the Jamaat e Islami, its old aide and conduit abroad, Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, has been trying to keep the pot of violence boiling in the Valley by observing the so called Kashmir Solidarity Day. New Delhi has taken a serious note of the developments.
Sources said the intelligence agencies have inputs that Fai, a resident of Kashmir, hiding in the United States of America for decades, held a panel discussion on the so called Kashmir Solidarity Day making provocative statements and hatching fresh conspiracies against the Indian nation.
Sources said the former Jamaat aide from Kashmir, who has also been under scanner for terror financing in the US held panel discussion that was sponsored by the Pakistani spy agency ISI.

JAMMU, Feb 6: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has recorded statements of scores of people and is questioning several detained people in connection with the twin terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir’s Dhangri village that left seven people dead, official sources said on Monday.
While five people, including two brothers, were killed in the firing by terrorists on January 1, two children died when an improvised explosive device (IED) left behind by the attackers went off the next day. The victims hailed from the minority community.

Srinagar, Feb 6: Rains lashed plains including Srinagar while parts of Kashmir valley including Gulmarg received fresh snowfall overnight, official said on Monday.
The famous ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir received more than one foot of snow while the tourist resort of Pahalgam and frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara also experienced snowfall overnight, MeT office said.
MeT forecast is currently raining at most places of Kashmir valley and at a few places of Jammu, especially Chenab valley. Intermittent light Rain/Snow likely to continue till afternoon. Expect gradual improvement thereafter. The weather will remain partially cloudy on February 7-8.

New Delhi, Feb 6: Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud on Monday administered the oath of office to five new judges of the Supreme Court.
Justices Pankaj Mithal, Sanjay Karol, P V Sanjay Kumar, Ahsanuddin Amanullah and Manoj Misra were administered the oath during a swearing-in ceremony held in the Supreme Court premises. With the appointment of the five judges, the total number of judges in the apex court has risen to 32, two short of the full strength.
Their names were recommended for elevation as apex court judges by the Supreme Court Collegium on December 13, 2022.
