Jammu, Feb 8: A day after Rahul Gandhi’s direct attack on him, Prime Minister on Wednesday exposed the Congress leader by launching a veiled attack on him.
After a long part of his speech mentioned the President's speech on Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi launched veiled attacks on the Opposition, specifically Rahul Gandhi.
“The entire ecosystem is jumping after yesterday's speech,” he said while mentioning toward Tuesday’s speech of Rahul Gandhi.

New Delhi, Feb 8: In a stinging attack on the Opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the trust reposed by crores of people was his protective shield which cannot be breached by abuse and allegations from his detractors.
Replying to the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address in Lok Sabha, Modi said the world was looking at India with hope amid instability in some parts of the globe due to the once-in-a-century pandemic and conflicts.

Jammu, Feb 8: A total of 187 terrorists were killed and 111 counter-terror operations carried out in Jammu and Kashmir in 2022, Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. Rai said 125 terrorists initiated incidents and 117 encounters took place in Jammu and Kashmir in 2022.
As many as 180 terrorists were killed and 95 counter-terror operations were carried out in Jammu and Kashmir in 2021, he said, replying to a written question of BJP member Sushil Kumar Modi. Jammu, Feb 8: As narco-terrorism has emerged as a more dangerous form of terrorism in J&K, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been empowered under NDPS Act 1985 to the investigation of narco-terrorism cases. New Delhi, Feb 8: A total of 669 cases of death in police custody were registered across the country in the last five years from April 1, 2017, to March 31, 2022, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) told the Rajya Sabha.
Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai informed the House in a written reply citing data provided by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
Mr Rai said a total of 175 cases of deaths in police custody were reported during 2021-2022, 100 in 2020-2021, 112 in 2019-2021, 136 in 2018-2019 and 146 in 2017-2018.

New Delhi, Feb 8: The government neither controls social media intermediaries nor casts any fetters on the freedom of expression of their users, Parliament was informed on Wednesday.
Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar in a written reply to the Lok Sabha said that the IT Rules, 2021, cast specific obligations on the intermediaries that no intermediaries shall violate the rights accorded to citizens under the constitution.
