Scam in Tribal Affairs Department: Role of ex-minister in Mehbooba Government under scanner | | |

Jammu, Mar 9: Role of a former minister of the previous PDP-BJP government is under scanner after Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against M S Choudhary, former Director, Tribal Affairs, J&K, who is presently posted as CEO/MD State Procurement and Supplies Agency RDD, J&K.
The said officer, who is facing charges of swindling funds worth lakhs meant to impart computer training to the poor Scheduled Tribes (STs) student, was blue-eyed boy of the former minister.
Credible sources said that it was all due to support of the said minister that M S Choudhary was appointed as Director, Tribal Affairs, J&K. “As the former minister was very much aware that huge funds would be pumped by the Centre directly to the Tribal Affairs Department, he took a tough stand that Choudhary must be appointed as Director of the same department”, sources revealed to the Early Times.

Srinagar, Mar 9: In a bid to improve the security network and surveillance in militancy infested Kashmir, the government is contemplating to install CCTV cameras at the colleges in the valley.
Sources said the government has decided to install the surveillance cameras in a phased manner whereas the process would be started for the colleges in the summer capital of Srinagar.

Jammu, Mar 9: The Enforcement Directorate on Monday carried out searches at six places and seized fixed deposits and sovereign gold bonds worth over Rs 25 crore in connection with a foreign exchange violation case against a real estate firm, a spokesman said.
According to the spokesman, the searches included residential and commercial premises in Jammu belonging to Rajesh Rathore and Mohd. Ashraf Sheikh and their companies in the case related to illegal acquisition of land by a non-resident Indian (NRI).
During the searches, fixed deposit receipts of Rs 25 crore and sovereign gold bonds of Rs 16 lakh were seized, the spokesman said in a statement.

"One case of patient admitted in isolation ward at Government Medical College, has been tested positive for Coronavirus." he said.
