Jammu, Mar 10: The Directorate of Information Technology & Support System, University of Kashmir, has come under the scanner of the authorities for the allegedly shady process of recruitment for some contractual posts.
On March 8, the applicants for the Contractual posts of Chief Trainer and Assistant Trainer for a project were shocked to see that just five days ahead of the exam scheduled for March 13 the KU authorities released its syllabus.
Sources said since the submission of the forms, the job applicants had been appealing the authorities that the syllabus be issued forthwith so that they would prepare for the exams.

New Delhi, Mar 10: In a fillip to the ambitious Agnipath scheme, the Union home ministry has announced 10 per cent reservation for former Agniveers in vacancies in the Border Security Force (BSF) with relaxations in the upper age limit.
The announcement was made through a notification after amending the Border Security Force, General Duty Cadre (Non-Gazetted) Recruitment Rules, 2015, and it will come into effect from March 9.
"Ten per cent of the vacancies shall be reserved for ex-Agniveers," the notification said.

New Delhi, Mar 10: Pushing for unicorns in self-help groups for women, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said India has moved from women development to women-led development in the last nine years.
Addressing the post-budget webinar on women empowerment, Modi highlighted that enrolment of women in the fields of engineering, science, technology and maths in the country today was 42 per cent.
“Can we make unicorns in self-help groups too, we have brought that vision in this year's budget,” he said.

Srinagar, Mar 10: As mainly dry weather continues, the minimum temperature recorded increase in Kashmir Valley as well as most parts of Jammu division on Friday.
A meteorological department official here said Srinagar recorded a low of 3.2°C against 2.9°C on the previous night and it was 0.1°C below normal for the summer capital.
Qazigund, he said, recorded a low of 2.0°C against 1.8°C on the previous night and it was 0.2°C below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir.
Pahalgam, he said, recorded a low of minus 1.2°C against minus 1.9°C on the previous night and it was 0.2°C above normal for the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
