Jammu, Mar 12: While the administration of Jammu and Kashmir has yet again issued a self-appreciating handout through the Information department talking tall about launch of numerous portals and smartphone apps to “deliver good governance,” the jobless educated youth have said they have no resources to buy smart phones or internet connections.
On March 11, the Information department handout said the “Good Governance is one of the most important factors in eradicating poverty and promoting development across the world through a more transparent, responsive and accountable dispensation in place” adding that several e-governance measures have been introduced.

Jammu, Mar 12: With scorching summer heat round the corner, Jammu is feared to face another season of pesky power outages as the Power Development Department is facing shortage of around thirty percent shortage of engineers, especially in Jammu province.
Official sources said the PDD has found through a study that the department was facing a shortage of around thirty percent of engineering staff ranging from Assistant Engineer to the Chief Engineers, particularly in Jammu province. The Early Times had recently reported that there was a shortage of around 400 engineers in the department and that a study has put it at thirty percent of available vacancies.

Srinagar, Mar 12: Security forces shot dead four militants including a Pakistani in three encounters in Kashmir in the last 12 hours, police said on Saturday.
A militant has also been arrested during one of these encounter.
The three overnight gunfights took place after the assassination of a Sarpanch in Kulgam - second in last three days.
The gunfights took place in Pulwama, Ganderbal and Kupwara districts of Kashmir.

Srinagar, Mar 12: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper on leave was killed by militants on Saturday in J&K’s Shopian district.
