Jammu, Mar 13: While a sudden spike in target killings in Kashmir has left bereaved families especially the women folk in a state of mourning, the J&K administration is busy celebrating “Women’s day.” While the International Women’s Day was celebrated on March 8, the administration in Jammu and Kashmir, has stretched it to weeklong celebrations being hosted in the Union Territory.
On March 12 alone the administration held around half a dozen celebratory events in Kashmir, when the event had actually concluded four days ago. And the celebrations were extended when terror strikes have been on a deadly rise. As per official documents, “Celebratory function under International Women's Week held at Anantnag.” “The District Social Welfare Office Anantnag in collaboration with Mahila Shakti Kendra, Sakhi One Stop Centre and Humanity, the ultimate faith (NGO) today organised a celebratory function in connection with International Women's week 2022 with a campaign theme ‘Break the Bias’ at Town Hall, here,” the official handout said.

JAMMU, Mar 13: Residents of many villages in the Jammu division have accused the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) department of playing truant and denying ration to the genuine ration holders while citing flimsy reasons for the same.
A group of people here said that they were denied ration on the pretext that the finger print on the Point of Sale (POS) machine did not match with the saved finger print. They said that ration is not given to all the members of the family even though they are registered at the other platforms.

SRINAGAR, Mar 13: The Government today informed that 26 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 10 from Jammu division and 16 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 453448.Also, 01 Covid death has been reported from Jammu division.
Moreover, 35more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 18from Jammu Division and17 from Kashmir Division.
