Discontent brewing among NC legislators for getting limited time in Assembly

Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 13: Discontent is brewing among legislators of the ruling National Conference (NC) over the limited time allotted to them for raising issues concerning their respective constituencies during the ongoing budget session of the Legislative Assembly. A day after Mushtaq Guroo, NC MLA from Srinagar’s Channapora Assembly segment, voiced his frustration over not being given sufficient time to speak in the House, other party legislators followed suit, airing their grievances publicly. On Thursday, National Conference MLAs Aijaz Jan from Poonch and Bashir Ahmad Veeri from Bijbehara expressed similar discontent over being sidelined during Assembly proceedings. Upon finally getting an opportunity to speak, Aijaz Jan reminded the House that he was elected with nearly 42,000 votes, securing victory by a margin of over 20,000 votes. He emphasized that he had a mandate from the people and deserved the chance to raise their concerns in the Assembly. Govt assures early conduct of departmental exams for Junior KAS officers

Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 13: The Government has assured Junior KAS officers of the 2018 and 2019 batches that necessary steps are being taken to address their concerns regarding quasi-permanent status and departmental examinations. In response to a query raised by Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Jan (A.Q. No. 1097) in the Legislative Assembly, the Government clarified: (a) The 2018 and 2019 batches of Junior KAS officers have not yet been declared quasi-permanent despite completing five years of service due to administrative reasons. However, the Government is actively working on resolving the matter. (b) Rule 16 of SRO-386 mandates the conduct of departmental exams within two years of service...
