Srinagar, Mar 17: Even as the Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested a Gujarati man who impersonated a top official in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and held meetings with top officials in the Union territory, some officials have under the scanner for having given “undue access to the accused in violation of code of conduct.”
The sources said the alleged conman, identified as Kiran Bhai Patel, used to identify himself as the Additional Director in the PMO and would hold meetings with officials across Kashmir during his previous visits.
The sources said some of the officers were “more than eager to have a word with him and so seek his blessings.” The sources said such meetings were done in violation of norms “thereby compromising the issues over governance in the region.”
Apart from taking pictures at historic Lal Chowk, he had visited frontier Uri.
The sources said detailed inquiry of some such officers was expected in the coming days.

Jammu, Mar 17: The Union Government has reportedly taken very serious note of the failure of the J&K administration to verify the credentials of the fraudster who was impersonating as a senior officer in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
Highly placed sources said that Union Government has sought a report from the J&K Government on how all protocols were provided to the cheater without checking his credentials from the department concerned.

Srinagar, Mar 17: Union Home Ministry has announced a 10 percent reservation for former Agniveers in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Former Agniveers would get relaxation in the upper age limit and will also be exempted from Physical Efficiency Test.
This announcement comes a few days after the Ministry had announced a similar 10 percent reservation for former Agniveers in the Border Security Force (BSF).
As per the notification, the upper age limit for candidates of the first batch of Agniveers shall be relaxed by up to five years, whereas the other batches shall get age relaxation by up to three years.

New Delhi, Mar 17: The National Medical Commission has not agreed to Pharmacy Council of India's proposal to allow pharmacists to write prescription, saying writing a prescription is dependent on examining patients and making a diagnosis, the government said today.
Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar said this in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha.

Srinagar, Mar 17: Meteorological office on Friday predicted rain, thunderstorm at scattered places in plains while snowfall over higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir during next 24 hours.
Intermittent rain, thunderstorm accompanied by gusty winds at scattered places whereas snowfall is likely over higher reaches from March 18 to March 20, the MeT office said adding there is no forecast of any heavy rain or snow during the period.
It has also advised the farmers to postpone spraying of orchards during this period.
