Dynasts’ made Jammu pay fee as business establishments in Srinagar work without SMC registration | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Mar 18: In a shocking development it has been found that the previous regimes allowed most of the banks, and business institutions including hotels, restaurants and shops in Srinagar to run without registration from the Srinagar Municipal Corporation thereby meaning that such institutions have not being paying requisite fee towards the SMC while Jammu city has been paying crores of rupees on such lines.
Officials said over the years the SMC has been facing major loss to the tune of crores of rupees due to the non registration of such offices who were supposed to pay regular fee.

Srinagar, Mar 18: As Centre has earmarked Rs 200 crore in budget for works identified during Back to Village programme, developmental works in rural areas continue to get affected due to non-releasing of funds for various works.
Centre has announced over Rs one lakh crore budget for Jammu and Kashmir for the next fiscal. This is for the first time, when new Union Territory’s budget has gone over Rs one lakh crore.

New Delhi, Mar 18: The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the Centre and Jammu and Kashmir administration to inform by next week if it is releasing former chief minister Omar Abdullah, who has been detained since the abrogation of Article 370 in August last year. A bench of Justices Arun Mishra and M R Shah told the counsel appearing for the Centre that Abdullah’s sister Sara Abdullah Pilot’s plea against his detention will be heard on merit if he is not released soon. “If you are releasing him, then release him soon or we will hear the matter on merits,” the bench said.

Udhampur, Mar 18: A government official working in the office of Chief Medical Officer at Udhampur concealed the information about his visits to foreign countries. After returning from Australlia and Maldives he immediately joined his duty.
Sources told Early Times that the official returned nearly week ago and did not inform anyone about his travel history. “The official remained in contact with many people in the CMO office thereby endangering all,” they added.

Jammu, Mar 18: In a major relief to the people of Jammu & Kashmir, the Administrative Council which met under the chairmanship of LG Girish Chander Murmu accorded sanction to roll out the Jammu & Kashmir Health Scheme to provide free of cost Universal Health Coverage to all residents of the Union Territory in convergence with Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY.
Now, around 1.25 crore residents of J&K will be provided the same benefits as are listed under Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY.
At present, 5.95 lakh families are eligible for benefits under Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY. Around 15 lakh additional families will be covered under the Jammu & Kashmir Health Scheme.
