Jammu, Mar 18: While the National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti attended the concluding event of the Bharat Jodo Nayay Yatra of Rahul Gandhi, both the parties are preparing to fight against each other in the coming Assembly elections.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti addressed when Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra concluded at Mumbai's Shivaji Park on Sunday evening.
Interestingly both leaders from Kashmir Valley reiterated their commitment to jointly fight the BJP in the coming Lok Sabha elections during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra but in J&K leaders of both parties are ready to take on each other.
Within minutes after Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti reiterated to jointly fight the BJP, vice president of the National Conference and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that his party was going to announce candidates for all the three seats of Kashmir Valley within day or two.

Srinagar, Mar 18: A major fire erupted in the forest range of Zabarwan hills in the Brain-Nishat range in Srinagar during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, officials said.
They said the fire broke out on Sunday evening and spread in a vast area of the forest range of the Brain unit of Zabarwan hills.
A joint operation was launched by the Fire and Emergency Service, Wildlife department, Forest department and Police to bring the fire under control.

JAMMU, Mar 18: A suspected cattle smuggler was arrested and lodged in the central jail here under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) on Monday, police said.
