Jammu, Mar 22: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said that the old tradition of brotherhood and communal harmony has been restored in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370.
“Ever since the historic abrogation of article 370 in the region, Jammu and Kashmir is getting back to its old traditions, culture, and the Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb”, Amit Shah said while e-inaugurating the Mata Sharda Devi temple near the Line of Control (LoC) in Karnah sector of Kashmir Valley.

New Delhi, Mar 22: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah inaugurated Maa Sharda Devi Temple at Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir through video conferencing today. Several dignitaries including Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, were present on the occasion.
Amit Shah began his address by wishing the countrymen for the New Year. He said that today on the occasion of New Year, the newly constructed temple of Maa Sharda has been opened for the devotees and this is an auspicious sign for the devotees from all over India. Jammu, Mar 22: Even as all-party delegation led by National Conference President, Dr Farooq Abdullah recently called on the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) demanding Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the NC has “intensified lobbying” for the demand.

New Delhi, Mar 22: Amid an uptick in COVID-19 cases, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a high-level meeting on Wednesday to review the situation and public health preparedness, officials said.
India has recorded 1,134 new coronavirus cases, while the active cases increased to 7,026, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday.
The death toll climbed to 5,30,813 with five deaths. One death each has been reported by Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat and Maharashtra while one fatality was reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated.

Srinagar, Mar 22: When people were running for their lives in the Valley following a massive earthquake in the neighboring Afghanistan and Pakistan region, the doctors at a hospital in Bijbehara (Anantnag) kept their calm to save the life of a patient despite fear.
Dr Shabeena Shah, a Gynaecologist, was part of a team performing a caesarean on a pregnant lady at Bijbehara government hospital when tremors rattled the valley last night.
A video of the surgery, which has gone viral, shows doctors continue with the emergency surgery without blinking an eye.

Srinagar, Mar 22: One more non-local labourer who was injured in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir's sub district of Awantipora has succumbed on Wednesday taking the death toll to six, officials said.
They said Ali Hassan Ansari of Jharkhand succumbed to his injuries at Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital in Srinagar on Wednesday morning.

NEW DELHI, Mar 22: A court here on Wednesday granted the National Investigation Agency (NIA) 10 days’ custody of a person arrested by the agency from Srinagar in connection with an ongoing investigation into an NGO terror funding case.
Irfan Mehraj, a resident of Srinagar, is the first accused arrested following investigations into the NGO terror funding case registered in October 2020, the NIA said. He was a close associate of human rights activist Khurram Parvez and was working with his organisation, the Jammu and Kashmir Coalition of Civil Societies (JKCCS), it added.
