Jammu, Mar 22: Two days after Awami Ittehad Party announced to field jailed leader Abdul Rashid Sheikh alias Engineer Rashid on the Baramulla Lok Sabha seat, former Chief Minister and vice president of the National Conference Omar Abdullah said that a politician of Kashmir was responsible for the arrest of former MLA of Langate.
“It is very unfortunate that Engineer Rashid has to campaign from jail. For the last five years, Engineer Rashid has been lodged in jail without any crime”, Omar said, adding, “Engineer Rashid is not involved in any crime nor any offense has been proved against him. JAMMU, Mar 22: A lady was killed while two people sustained injuries when a minibus they were traveling in turned turtle in the Miran Sahib area here in the city outskirts.
Police said that a minibus, while overtaking another, skidded off and rolled down the road this morning in the Miran Sahib area.
“One lady passenger died in the mishap while two others suffered injuries,” said police.

SRINAGAR, Mar 22: Kashmir plains were lashed by rains while the ski resort of Gulmarg received a fresh snowfall during the past 24 hours, officials said. The Meteorological Department said that Gulmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district received 1.5cm of fresh snowfall much to the delight of the tourists staying there. Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley were lashed by light to moderate rains resulting in drop in the temperature.
The MeT office said Srinagar received 9.7mm of rainfall, Qazigund 3,4mm, Pahalgam 16.0mm, Kupwara 9.2mm, Kokernag 2.9mm and Gulmarg 18.4mm of rainfall during the past 24 hours till 0830hours Friday.

SRINAGAR, Mar 22: At least two firefighters have received injuries in a fire mishap in Bohri Kadal locality in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.
An official said that following the reporting of the incident, involving three single-storeyed shops, men and machinery from the Fire and Emergency Services Department reached the site to put out the flames.

The RBI on Thursday issued an omnibus framework for recognising self-regulatory organisations (SROs) for its regulated entities such as banks, NBFCs and housing finance companies.
The omnibus SRO framework prescribes the broad objectives, functions, eligibility criteria and governance standards, which will be common for all SROs, irrespective of the sector.
The framework also lays down the broad membership criteria and other terms and conditions to be followed by the SROs for grant of recognition by the Reserve Bank.
