Jammu, Mar 26: Amid reports that Ghulam Nabi Azad is going to contest the Lok Sabha election from the recently redrawn Anantnag-Rajouri seat, Pahari leaders today made it clear that they would not support any proxy candidate of BJP.
Without naming Ghulam Nabi Azad, the J&K Pahari Cultural and Welfare Forum cautioned the BJP against supporting any parachute leaders on seats where the Pahari ethnic community is a deciding factor. “On December 25, 2019, when we first time met Union Minister Amit Shah to raise our demand, we promised that the whole Pahari community would support the BJP if our long demand was fulfilled”, ex-legislator Murtaza Khan told media.

Samba, Mar 26: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said on Tuesday that they have arrested a Patwari and his associate, Chowkidar, in the Halqa Nanga panchayat in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district in connection with a case related to accepting a bribe. The accused were identified as Varun Choudhary, Patwari and Dayal Chand, Chowkidar.
As per the officials, a case has been registered against the accused, Patwari, based on a complaint.
It was alleged that the accused demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant for issuing Girdawari land owned by him.

SRINAGAR, Mar 26: Police in J&K’s Pulwama district on Tuesday booked a man using a toy pistol for extortion from the general public.
Police said that the Police station Rajpora received information that some persons were extorting money from the general public through criminal intimidation.
“FIR no 22/2024 u/s 384, 506, 420 was registered in Rajpora police station and an investigation was started. JAMMU, Mar 26: Jammu and Kashmir administration has designated over 100 doctors, who will issue health certificates to the pilgrims of Shri Amarnath yatra likely to start from June 29.
Official sources said that as many as 112 doctors have been designated to issue Compulsory Health Certificates from health centers across the Jammu region.
Notably, advance registration along with a health certificate is mandatory for the pilgrims for the pilgrimage.
