Jammu, Mar 29: As the blunder of providing all protocols to the Gujarat-based fraudster has snowballed into a big political issue, the UT administration on Wednesday asked Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to conduct an inquiry into the “goof up”.

Srinagar, Mar 29: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has stayed the scheduled Executive Committee of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
The Coram of Justice Sindhu Sharma observed: “In the meanwhile, subject to objections and till next of hearing before the Bench, the Meeting Notice dated 24th March, 2023 is stayed.”
“The members of the executive committee were elected on 19th June, 2021 and their tenure has already expired, therefore, the vacancies had to be filled by holding of elections of councilors as per the Act,” the Court said.

Srinagar, Mar 29: Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar on Wednesday said the revision of electoral rolls in Jammu & Kashmir doesn’t disturb schedule or conduct part of polls and the poll-body is aware that there is a vacuum in the Union Territory which needs to be filled.
Addressing a news conference in New Delhi, the CEC said that revision of electoral rolls in Jammu & Kashmir doesn’t disturb schedule or conduct part of the polls. “It doesn’t disturb the schedule part/conduct part that depends on various other factors,” the CEC said.

New Delhi, Mar 29: National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on Wednesday said there is no charge for the bank account to bank account-based UPI payments or normal UPI payments. However, interchange charges are only applicable for the prepaid payment instruments (PPI) merchant transactions and there is no charge to customers, NPCI clarified in a statement. NPCI has permitted the PPI wallets to be part of interoperable UPI ecosystem and levied 1.1 per cent charge on unified payment interface (UPI) transactions above Rs 2,000 while using PPI.
