JK Govt mulls to revamp non-functional schools | Merger of educational institutions on cards | | Early Times Report
jammu, Mar 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Government is mulling to revamp the schools functioning across the union territory.
According to the details available with Early Times the proposal to merge non-operational government schools with the ones functioning properly will be submitted soon.
Sources said that the decision to revamp the educational sector has been taken in the backdrop of the mounting complaints about the dearth of infrastructure and other facilities in the state run educational institutions.
"Most government schools in J&K are without drinking water, buildings and compound walls. Children in these schools are denied quality education," sources added.
They said, "Jammu region has 762 schools without the library facility. More than 5000 schools in Jammu region have no play grounds. Nearly 105 schools in the region are functioning without headmasters or principals. As many as 1257 schools in Jammu have no subject teachers."

jammu, Mar 30: With J&K recorded highest single-day spike of Covid positive cases this year, authorities have issued directions for opening of educational institutions from April 1.

SRINAGAR, Mar 30: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir continues to witness surge in Corona Virus cases on daily basis with 359 fresh infections being reported in the past 24 hours. BARAMULLA, Mar 30: Two Municipal councilors and a Special Police Officer (SPO) were killed after militants had fired indiscriminately upon the Municipal Councilors near Lone building opposite SDH Sopore on Monday afternoon.
