Jammu, Mar 5: Barely two days after senior leader of Bharatiya Janta Party from Jammu and Kashmir, Sunil Sharma held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the party leaders discussed much-awaited Assembly elections at a party meeting held in Jammu and Kashmir.
BJP General Secretary Ashok Koul along with J&K General Secretary and Incharge Kashmir Affairs Sunil Sharma chaired a meeting of senior party leaders “regarding upcoming party programs and booth sashaktikaran” at Jawahar Nagar here even as the issue of elections was discussed threadbare. Jammu, Mar 5: Over one month has passed since the conclusion of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra but incumbent Congress leadership in J&K has yet not briefed workers about the funds received and utilized during the stay of Yatra in the Union Territory.

Jammu, Mar 5: In view of the ongoing examination season across the country, the rush to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine have witnessed a slight dip but around 10 lakh devotees have paid obeisance this year till date at the Shrine nestled in Trikuta Hills of Katra town in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Official sources on Saturday said that there has been a slight decline in the pilgrims due to the examination season and despite that, this year so far nearly 10 lakh devotees have offered prayers to natural pindies inside the cave shrine.

Srinagar, Mar 5: Meteorological office on Sunday predicted partly cloudy skies with intermittent light rain at isolated places and light snow over higher reaches of Kashmir division during the next 24 hours.

Srinagar, Mar 5: Authorities on Sunday issued an avalanche warning in three districts of Kashmir division in the upcoming 24 hours, officials said.
The Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA) Sunday issued a “low danger” level avalanche warning for the people living above 2500 metres above sea level in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district in the next 24 hours.
Avalanche with “medium danger” level may occur above 2400 to 2500 metres over north Kashmir districts of Bandipora, and Kupwara in the next 24 hours. Srinagar, Feb 5: An earthquake of low intensity jolted parts of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, officials said.
The magnitude of the earthquake was measured on the Richter scale 3.9 with the epicenter at latitude 34.42 and longitude 74.88 in Jammu and Kashmir. The tremors were felt for a few seconds.
