Jammu, Mar 6: Within days of its meeting with the Union Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah in New Delhi, the Bharatiya Janta Party has kickstarted its “massive outreach” in Jammu and Kashmir.
While a mega meeting of the party cadres was held in Srinagar on March 5, on March 6, the senior BJP leader Ashok Koul chaired a meeting in Anantnag. Sources said on March 7, the party would hold a similar event in Kulgam followed by more meetings in the coming days across the valley. A similar plan has been chalked out for Jammu.
Sources said Shah has told the BJP leaders from Jammu and Kashmir to intensify public outreach. A senior BJP leader, who spoke to the Early Times on the condition of anonymity, said “some major political activity is on the cards and this is why our party has opted for a massive public outreach.” He said the BJP leaders have been asked to get active in their respective constituencies.

Jammu, Mar 6: Demanding for de-freezing assembly seats reserved for displaced persons of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir gained momentum. During the LG’s Special Governance Camp for Displaced Persons of PoJK, this demand was raised by Dr. Deepak Kapoor, president, PoJK Visthapit Seva Samiti.
While expressing his gratitude towards Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for accepting most of the demands of PoJK displaced persons, Dr. Kapoor exuded confidence that the demand for de-freezing seats will also be fulfilled before the announcement of assembly polls in J&K.

Although no formal announcement has been made regarding the maiden assembly elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Ghulam Nabi Azad has started the exercise for the safer electoral battle for his son Sajjad Nabi Azad, who formally joined politics last week.

JAMMU, Mar 6: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday ordered transfer and posting of two IAS officers in the Union Territory.
According to an order, Dr Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, IAS (AGMUT:2001), awaiting orders of adjustment, is posted as Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor.
The order stated he shall also hold the charge of the post of Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, in addition to his own duties.
