Farooq hails Maharaja Hari Singh to invoke Dogra sentiments in Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 8: To encash the prevailing anger among educated unemployed youth of Jammu region, former Chief Minister and president of National Conference (NC) Dr Farooq Abdullah today openly played Dogra card to warn people that their identity was under threat after abrogation of Article 370.
Dr Abdullah even hailed last Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh for introducing State Subject laws in erstwhile state of J&K in the year 1927 to protect interests of people of the state in general and Jammu region in particular.
“Those who were celebrated abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019 have now realized that they were cheated and betrayed”, former Chief Minister said while mentioning towards residents of Jammu region. “Within year after abrogation of Article 370, people of Jammu region have realized that they were cheated”, he observed.

Jammu, Mar 8: The J&K unit of BJP deleted demands of early Assembly elections and restoration of statehood from its political resolution moved in the state executive committee meeting after being scolded by the party high-command for showing desperation to get the power.
Sources said that high-command has warned J&K unit leaders against raising such demands without taking central leadership on the board.

SRINAGAR, Mar 8: The COVID-19 positive cases in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 1, 27,114 since 70 new cases came to the fore today. The death toll due to the virus reached 1963 with one death being reported from Jammu division in the past 24 hours.
Srinagar district reported 33 new cases of Corona Virus including 12 travelers followed by Jammu district 11 cases, Pulwama district seven cases, Baramulla district six cases, Budgam district five cases, Anantnag district four cases, Ganderbal district two cases and Kupwara & Bandipora districts one case each. SRINAGAR, Mar 8: Amid the reports of covid19 positive cases in some schools in the Kashmir division, the government Monday said that it is taking regular feedback and monitoring the situation.
"We are aware about these cases in some schools in Kashmir and are keeping a vigil on the situation," one of the top government officials told early this evening.
The official said that the government has given clear cut directions to the schools to avoid all such activities in which they could not maintain social distance.
