J&K mourns death of teenage girl, elderly man in grenade blast; Govt celebrates Women’s Day | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Mar 8: Amidst Jammu and Kashmir mourning the death of a teenage girl and an elderly man in a grenade blast at Hari Singh High Street in Amira Kadal, the government is busy celebrating Women’s Bike Rally and holding other events to claim that everything is hunky-dory in the Valley.
It’s in place to mention here that ultras had hurled a grenade at a busy flea market at Hari Singh High Street on Sunday, leaving an elderly man and a teenage girl dead, and 24 others wounded.
An observer while talking to Early Times said, “Death of two innocent people hasn’t made any difference. The indifferent attitude of the helmsmen towards the families of the deceased is shocking. Someone needs to tell the people who are managing that killings and celebrations don’t go together in any part of the world.”
The 19-year old Rafiya Nazir who was killed in the blast had passed class 12 exams with 93% marks recently and wanted to become a doctor but the dreams of the family were shattered after her body arrived at her home on Monday morning.

JAMMU, Mar 8: Residents of Basohli area and the adjoining areas have expressed concern over the lack of facilities and shortage of staff at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Basohli. They have appealed the administration to look into the matter so that there is an end to their problems.
The residents said that there is shortage of staff adding that the physician is not available at the hospital. They said that same is the case with some of the specialities at the hospital with doctors not available to treat the patients who visit the hospital on account of different ailments.
