Power outages may trigger large scale unemployment, dip in production in Jammu | Winter capital punished by Admin for no fault | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 9: In spite of giving more than Rs. 150 Crore revenue to the government a month, the industrial units in Jammu are being hounded with latest pesky power cuts plunging the sector into crises. The government in recent days came up with a strategy to cut power supplies in Jammu’s industrial areas for three hours every day. This has led to the chaotic situation on the ground with apprehensions being raised that such a measure will cast a dark spell over industrial growth in Jammu and will further surge the unemployment in the region to a large extent. The outages, as per reports, will also severely affect the production of goods in the industrial area and would create a vacuum between demand and supplies on the ground.
While the government keeps on making claims about ensuring industrial growth in Jammu, the power cuts have reduced such claims to twig leaves, making mockery of the promises of good and effective governance. Early Times has recently reported that the power crisis has started deepening in Jammu and Kashmir.
