Party leader resigns after colleague seeks Raj Bhawan intervention in Pandit land controversy | | | Sanjay Pandita

Srinagar, Apr 10: Following a controversy over Pandit land in Chatterhama area of Srinagar, the Youth President of a Kashmir based political party has resigned from the post as his colleague sought intervention of the Raj Bhawan.
The said politician, who is also an elected representative of a civic body, in support of some people had said that he was “a bigger gunda.”
But the Pandit community had taken a serious note of the allegedly irresponsible behavior of the leader who had even called a government official as “gunda.”
As the video went viral, another senior leader of the same party, who also holds a prominent post at the District Development Council in Srinagar, came out in support of the Pandit community.

J&K road network to be equivalent to America’s in 3-4 Years: Gadkari | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Apr 10: In the next 3-4 years, the roads of Jammu and Kashmir will be made equivalent to American roads, said Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari here on Monday.
“We are working on such a mission that in the coming three-four years we will make the Jammu and Kashmir road network equivalent to that of America,” Union Minister Gadkari said at a press briefing here.
The Union Minister is on a two-day-long visit to the Union Territory.
He said that a four-lane Greenfield Expressway, connecting Delhi-Katra, will also be made, which will reduce the distance between the two cities by 58 Km.

Jammu, Apr 10: The long cherished dream of the devotees of Baba Amarnath is going to become a reality as Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday announced a Rs 5300 crore project to connect the holy cave of Shri Amarnath with the road network.

Jammu, Apr 10: Directions of the Supreme Court once again revived hopes of the Hindus to get minority status in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Supreme Court Monday gave the states of Rajasthan and Telangana and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir six weeks to submit their responses on the issue of identification of minorities at the state level after the Centre pleaded for giving them a ”last opportunity”.

SRINAGAR , Apr 10: With an overall pass percentage of over 95 percent, State Council of Educational Research and Training Monday declared results of 8th standard in hard and soft zones of Jammu, Kashmir divisions.
An official said that in both hard and soft zones, at least 95.02 percent students from the government schools have qualified the exams including 93.85 in Jammu division and 95.85 in Kashmir division respectively.
He said that 98.58 percent students of private schools in both soft and hard zones have also qualified the exams. “97.84 percent students of private schools from Jammu and 95.53 from Kashmir division have qualified the exams.”

New Delhi, Apr 10: In view of rising cases of COVID-19 in various parts of the country, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is learnt to have approved the inclusion of Serum Institute’s Covovax on the CoWIN portal as a heterologous booster dose for adults, official sources said on Monday.
Covovax is likely to be available on the portal in a few days at a price of ₹ 225 per dose plus applicable GST.
The move comes after a letter was written by Prakash Kumar Singh, Director, Serum Institute of India (SII) to the Union health ministry on March 27, the sources said.
