Early Times Report Doda, Apr 11: Residents of Tanata Kahara staged a protest outside the office of Deputy Commissioner Doda against the failure of the government to provide their village with the electricity. Protesters while talking to reporters said, “We are living in a stone age. Nearly 99% of the people in our area are illiterates as the government has failed to illuminate our area. In absence of electricity children are unable to carry forward their studies.” A youth, who is pursuing his Post Graduation from Jammu University, said, “Had I stayed in my village I would not have been able to do PG. Early Times Report Baramulla, Apr 11: Just two days after a casual labourer died while repairing an electricity line in North Kashmir’s Ajas area, another PDD labourer died of electrocution at Khenpeth Singhpora area in Pattan area on Monday. According to the details available with Early Times a 32-year old lineman, Ghulam Rasool Wani received an electric shock when he was repairing a wire in the Khenpeth Singhpora area of Pattan. Early Times Report Srinagar, Apr 11: Two militants including a Pakistani were killed and two policemen wounded in a gun battle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday evening, officials said. They said the gun battle erupted at the Khurbatpora area during a cordon and a search operation following an input about militants’ presence.
