SRINAGAR, Apr 13: Despite reservations by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) a former Army General has joined the fray for the top most gubernatorial post in Jammu & Kashmir.
Sources told Early Times that former chief of army staff Lt Gen (Retired) Dalbir Singh Suhag has joined the race for the post of Governor of Jammu & Kashmir. Former General Officer Commanding (GOC) 15 Corps Lt Gen (Retired) Syed Ata Hasnain has been a top contender for the top notch gubernatorial in the state.
"For a long time Lt Gen (Retired) Hasnain has been in fray for the post of Governor in the state. Of late Lt Gen (Retired) Suhag has joined the race in this regard. It remains to be seen who would emerge the victorious in this respect since there are some other parameters attached to this whole issue," said sources.

Srinagar, Apr 13: A day before the crucial meeting of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the two BJP Ministers, Choudhary Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga were sacked for their alleged role in lending support to the accused arrested in connection with the rape and murder case of an eight year old nomad girl in Kathua.
Sources told Early Times that both the ministers submitted their resignations to the party president Sat Sharma.

Jammu, Apr 13: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had reportedly spoken to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP President Amit Shah on Thursday asking them to "help the state government to come out from the controversy surrounding Kathua rape and murder and presence of BJP Ministers Lal Singh and Chandra Prakash Ganga in rallies there.
Sources said after assuring Mehbooba of "not to worry", Amit Shah asked Mehbooba to call Rajnath Singh as well.

SRINAGAR, Apr 13: Senior BJP leader and chief architect of the PDP-BJP alliance, Ram Madhav, will arrive in Jammu on Saturday.
Sources said that BJP High Command has decided to send Madhav to Jammu in view of the crisis over the Kathua rape and murder incident.
"Ram Madhav will chair the BJP legislators meeting on Saturday at 1 pm. State BJP leaders will also participate," sources within the BJP said.
