Jammu, Apr 15: The unabated deaths of PDD daily wagers in Jammu and Kashmir has once again put a question mark on the efficacy of the present LG administration in protecting lives of the poor workers who are compelled to jump into the death wells by the authorities.
This year in the span of just three months, more than seven PDD dailywagers were electrocuted to death. They left their families in absolute wretched states and their children devastated with no secure future. The government also is in no mood to adopt a human approach vis-à-vis the plight of these poor daily wagers. They have no guarantee that their services will be regularized neither they have the income through which their families could sustain themselves.

Srinagar, Apr 15: A Sarpanch was shot dead by unidentified militants in Kashmir on Friday evening, officials said.
They said Sarpanch Manzoor Ahmad was shot at and critically wounded by militants at Goshbugh area of Pattan in Baramulla district.
“He was shifted to hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival,” they added.
The officials said the area has been cordoned to trace the attackers.

NEW DELHI, Apr 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated a multi-speciality hospital in Gujarat’s Bhuj via video-conferencing.
He said the country will get a record number of doctors in the next 10 years due to the central government’s policy of establishing at least one medical college in every district.
The 200-bedded KK Patel mutli-speciality hospital has been built by the Leuva Patel community.
“The goal of having at least one medical college in every district and ensuring that medical education was in reach of everyone will result in the country getting a record numbers of doctors after 10 years,” the PM said.

| | J&K admin fails to submit 2202 UCs amounting to Rs 10,441 cr: CAG | | |

JAMMU, Apr 15: The Comptroller & Auditor General (CAG) has recommended for action against some officials of Jammu & Kashmir after the union territory administration failed to submit 2205 utilization certificates (UC) amounting to Rs. 10,441 crores for the period ending March 31, 2020.
The CAG said that the non-submission of the UCs means that the authorities have not explained as to how funds were spent over the years and the same is fraught with the risk of misappropriation.
The CAG’s latest report said that an amount of Rs. 10,441 crores is outstanding in Jammu & Kashmir of which Rs. 5,972 crores were outstanding form more than a year.

SRINAGAR, Apr 15: Community Information Centre (CIC) operators working in the Rural Development Department (RDD) have urged the LG administration of Jammu & Kashmir to expedite the process of their regularization and finalize the same as early as possible.
A group of CIC operators while sharing their views said that the sub-committee formed to resolve their issues should meet at the earliest so that the regularization process is completed.
