Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 16: Jammu and Kashmir Government has spent lakhs of rupees on advertisements to give a message to control the spread of mosquitoes but on the ground nothing concrete has been done. Instead of taking effective steps to control breeding of mosquitoes, authorities appear to be busy wasting money on the cash-starved Union Territory. Highly placed sources said that during its visit in Jammu region after the outbreak of deadly Dengue in the month of October 2021, a team of experts deputed by the Union Government had suggested fogging in different areas of Jammu after repeated intervals. “No initiative has been taken to conduct fogging in different localities of Jammu city which are vulnerable for mosquitoes breeding”, sources said and added that higher-ups in ...

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today announced 300 units of free electricity each month for every household in the state from July 1. Agencies New Delhi, Apr 16: Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, on Saturday, informed that more than 20.60 crore balance and unutilized coronavirus vaccine doses are still available with the states and Union Territories (UTs). According to the ministry, more than 192.27 crores (1,92,27,23,625) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through the Government of India (free of cost channel) and through the direct state procurement category. EARLY TIMES Report Jammu, Apr 16: The tall claims of the government to address unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir have fallen as the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) figures have revealed that the unemployment rate in the Union Territory has touched 25 percent for the month of March, despite the national unemployment rate witnessing a decline. The unemployment rate in J&K, according to the CMIE, is higher than the national level unemployment rate of 7.6 percent recorded across the country.
