It’s official: Babus spent Rs 10,000 crore inappropriately in J&K | Meri Marzi! | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 17: In a shocking development that may open “Pandoras Box of Troubles for the babu raaj”, the Jammu and Kashmir government is found to have spent a whopping over rupees ten thousand crores inappropriately.
New Delhi has not only found “serious misappropriation of funds”, action against the erring officials has been sought. Sources said the matter has been brought to the notice of the Prime Minister’s Office in the national capital.
In a recent audit, the Comptroller and Auditor and General of India (CAG) has found that the Jammu and Kashmir has failed to submit 2,205 utilisation certificates (UCs) for an amount of over Rs 10,441 crore as on March 31, 2020. The CAG, which is headed by previous LG of Jammu and Kashmir, GC Murmu said that officials should be held accountable for the lapse.
The CAG has said that the non-submission of the UCs means that authorities have not explained as to how funds were spent and is fraught with the risk of misappropriation.

Srinagar, Apr 17: A yet another lineman of Power Development Department (PDD) was electrocuted to death while repairing a transformer in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday. This is the fourty casualty of a PDD lineman in Kashmir during the past fortnight.
According to the details available with Early Times the PDD lineman identified as Mohammad Ashraf Mir, a resident of Badapora Nagam Charar-e-Sharief received electric shock while repairing a transformer in Haproo area. He was shifted to a local hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Srinagar, Apr 17: Chairman of J&K Contractors Coordination Committee, Ghulam Jeelani Purza, has asked all the contractors to stage a protest across the Union Territory on April 19 (Tuesday) against the government’s decision asking them to get a no objection certificate from police to get their cards renewed.
Talking to reporters here Purza said, “My appeal to all the contractors is to stage a protest at their respective district headquarters against the arbitrary decisions taken by the government.”

JAMMU, Apr 17: Even as Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha had announced 15% reservation for women in Non-Gazetted posts of J&K Police on the occasion of National Girl Child Day in January earlier this year but the decision is yet to be implemented in letter and spirit.
