Jammu, Apr 18: Only a few hours left for filing of nomination papers in the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha but the ruling BJP has yet not declare its candidate for this prestigious segment.
Silence maintained by the BJP fueled speculation that the party is not going to field candidates on all three Lok Sabha seats of Kashmir Valley.
During his visit to Jammu on Tuesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has dropped hints that party was not going to field candidates on the Lok Sabha seats of Kashmir Valley.
Union Home Minister asked people in Kashmir Valley to vote against dynastic political parties in the Lok Sabha elections.

Anantnag, Apr 18: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference leader Mian Altaf Ahmad on Thursday filed nomination papers for the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat which is going to polls in the third phase of elections on May 7.
Accompanied by several party leaders and hundreds of supporters, Mehbooba arrived at the office of Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Syed Fakhruddin, who is the returning officer for the constituency, to file her papers.
Talking to reporters later, the former chief minister appealed to people not to boycott the polls as “this election is about the assault launched on dignity, identity and resources” of Jammu and Kashmir.

Srinagar, Apr 18: Rains lash the plains of Kashmir valley while some upper reaches experience a fresh snowfall disrupting normal activities on Thursday.
Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley were lashed by light to moderate rains and some upper reaches including Zojila Pass on the Srinagar-Ladakh highway experienced a fresh light snowfall on Thursday.
