JK Govt again forgets to endorse Union Cabinet decision on DA Enhancement | Forgetfulness, non-seriousness- thy name is Governance ! | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 1: Even at a time when Jammu and Kashmir is a union territory- controlled by the union government, Bureaucrats here seem to have been making every attempt to give a feel of how distant, lethargic and shirker governance is looming large in the erstwhile state.
Take this for example: two days have passed since the union cabinet approved the proposal to increase the dearness allowance for central government employees and pensioners by 3 per cent to 34 per cent of the basic pay from 31 per cent previously, effective January 1, 2022. However, there is no such order issued by the Finance department here endorsing the Cabinet decision and making the fresh DA rates effective in the union territory. “The JK Government has to issue a separate order with the concurrence of the finance department so that the rates of the Dearness allowance are enhanced as per the latest union Cabinet order. One was expecting this order to be issued on Friday. However, nothing as such has been witnessed,” says an official.
