Are public gatherings allowed under lockdown restrictions? | Saffron party office bearers hold meeting in Kathua, circulate details on social media | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 20: The Union Territory administration has imposed several restrictions across all the districts, including imposition of Section 144 which prohibits gatherings but it seems that in Kathua town no such restrictions are in place as Saffron party office bearers held a meeting and also uploaded the photographs on the social networking sites (which were deleted after few hours) under the nose of authorities.
As per the National Disaster Management Act, Section 144 as well as The Epidemic Disease Act 1987, which are at present enforced in Jammu and Kashmir as well as in the country, the assembly of people is restricted to contain the spread of the disease.
In the initial days of the imposition of lockdown, the District Magistrates of most of the districts had imposed Section 144, to deter people from gatherings at public places as well as restrict the movement of public transport system.

Jammu, Apr 20: Even as the world is fighting against deadly coronavirus pandemic, neighboring Pakistan is back with its sinister plots of threatening individuals in Jammu and Kashmir through terror portals and social media accounts putting intelligence agencies on the tenterhooks.
Sources said the police are looking into details of some specific social media handles being used to either malign image, or to threaten certain individuals from Kashmir province in particular.

JAMMU, Apr 20: School Education Department today issued orders for placement of 34 headmasters as in-charge Zonal Education Officers.
The order issued by Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon reads that the 34 I/C Headmasters & equivalent are hereby placed as I/C Zonal Education Officers & equivalent, in their own pay and grade for a period of six months or till the posts are filled up on regular basis whichever is earlier.

SRINAGAR, Apr 20: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir saw a spike in the Corona Virus cases as 18 fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported from different districts of Kashmir valley over the past 24 hours or so.
At the same time, 15 more patients have recovered and they were discharged from the different hospitals today. While four cases surfaced in the night of Sunday, 14 such cases surfaced during the course of the day on Monday. In the Kashmir valley there are 313 COVID-19 patients while as the number is 55 in Jammu.
